AMS40K-1212: What kind of program is used to address alternative applications?

In the last few days, several calls have been received inquiring about the encoder AMS40K-1212. we do not have this product, it is a Hoebner model. So each inquiry was explained.

Finally, an end customer came in and communicated that they wanted an alternative product to solve the application. This customer was in a hurry and the suppliers they contacted had long lead times and were unable to meet the demand.

If it is about substitution, to solve the application problem, there is still a way. This also depends on the application of customer requirements, generally for traders we do not take the initiative to do alternative. Because the communication cost is relatively high, or to the end customer to explain, back and forth a lot of trips.

For customers who are willing to use alternative to solve the application, we are able to provide assistance in this regard. After all, nowadays, the delivery time of imported products can be several months, so many customers have no temper.

Customized Solutions:

First of all, let's take a look at this product, it's an SSI encoder with a resolution of 4096*4096 and a flange of 115mm. these parameters are all we need, and we can solve the application by matching a product around this parameter.

First option: a stainless steel 78mm explosion proof absolute encoder + a special 115 flange would be a perfect solution. The cost of this seems a bit high, but for the original the cost is not worth mentioning.

Second option: with a 58mm stainless steel encoder + 115 flange can also we solve.

The final choice depends on the customer's application environment. The difference is that the 78mm encoder is a little thicker on the inside. If you have a requirement for explosion protection, you can choose this one. Both are "stronger" than the original, which uses an aluminum alloy housing.

Difference in application: the alternative product does not have a base, you can make a simple stand by yourself.

And that's how it's solved. Only a lot of domestic application companies, too concerned about the shell consistent, this is not desirable. Should care about the installation parameters and application data consistent, nothing else matters. If only the exact same product, these unconventional products are difficult to find a replacement.

For purchasing, it's even harder. Procurement only recognizes the model number and has no feeling for the product. So, it's still up to the technician to find a replacement.
